Planning for Success in 2012

Posted on 8:53am Monday 2nd Jan 2012

I am just putting the final touches to my 2012 Career Plan so I am really excited about the year ahead.

As planning has featured heavily in my consulting work and training sessions this year, my clients, colleagues, associates, training participants and friends will expect me to practice what I preach.

Having reviewed my 2011 Plans and congratulated myself on my successes, analysed where I could have done things differently for even better outcomes and constructed new strategies for items that have yet to produce the results I want, I feel I know where I am heading in the next 12 months.

It was Winston Churchill who said during World War II:-

"He who fails to plan is planning to fail"

Having worked in businesses of all sizes for over 25 years, I am still surprised how many people I work with who do not have their own career plans. Still more, who have forgotten to review their careers on a regular basis!

I am a great believer in planning, be it in business and in personal life. I wish I had been taught some of these skills when I was at school! Better late than never!

In my intention to spread the planning message to more people, as many of you know, I introduced bespoke and public training sessions into my offering including:-

  • Career Planning
  • Writing A Compelling CV
  • Interview Techniques
  • Getting to Know Your Customers
  • Dealing with Difficult Behaviours

More topics and locations will be added shortly. Please check the events page on the website for new dates or contact us to arrange sessions to suit your schedule in your local area.

Remember, if you get into a taxi and you are unable to tell the driver where you want to go, you are going to have an expensive journey going no where.

Wishing you a healthy, joyful, planned and successful 2012.
